Privacy Policy
OTT Release Notifier · Last updated: October 6, 2026 · Draft for owner review before public launch.
What we collect
- Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL from Google. We store your name, email, and an internal user ID so your watchlist follows your account.
- Watchlist and preferences — the titles you save, notification on/off choices, and watched status.
- Push notification tokens — an Expo push token for your device, your device platform, and your timezone, so release alerts reach the right device at a sensible local time. With your app's network requests, our infrastructure may also process your approximate region (country/city derived from IP address by our hosting/CDN provider) to time notifications and suggest locally relevant content.
- Notification records — a history of alerts we generated for you, shown in the app's notifications list.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, advertising identifiers, or payment information. The app has no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your watchlist synced across your devices.
- To send the release notifications you asked for, and to avoid sending duplicates.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service (for example, approximate region helps us schedule alerts in your timezone).
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the processors needed to run the service (Google for sign-in, Expo for push delivery, and our cloud hosting providers).
Images and third-party content
The app displays publicly available movie artwork and YouTube trailer thumbnails. When artwork is loaded from a third-party content host, that host receives your device's IP address as part of the normal image request.
Data retention and deletion
Your account data is kept while your account is active. To delete your account and associated data (account info, watchlist, push tokens, notification records), email sarath@expensemap.com from your sign-in address; we will delete it within 30 days. Signing out on a device stops notifications to that device when you also remove the app or disable notifications.
Security
Access to your data requires an authenticated token issued at sign-in. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use encrypted connections (HTTPS) throughout.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be announced in the app or on this page, with the "last updated" date revised.
